    • Add DNS CAA support to the DNS manager

I would like to see an implemention to support DNS CAA in DOs DNS controllpanel.

DNS Certification Authority Authorization (CAA) uses the Internet's Domain Name System to specify which certificate authorities may be regarded as authoritative for a domain. This is intended to support additional cross-checking at the client end of TLS connections to attempt to prevent certificates issued by CAs other than the specified CAs from being used to spoof the identity of websites or perform man-in-the-middle attacks on them.

If we would run a certain CA on our websites, we can specify that in our DNS settings and…

      • Make your pricing competitive with Linode's

        $40/mo = 8gb ram - 4 cores (Linode)
        $40/mo = 4gb ram - 2 cores (DO)

Sort it out... or lose market share.

        • mark a droplet as protected, so deleting it require confirm from owners via email

I noticed that destroying a droplet is so easy on Digital Ocean. I have to double and triple check If I'm deleting a correct droplet or not.

I think It's a good idea that I (as a customer) could mark some of my droplets as protected droplets, so destroying them require confirming on owner's email. I mean, DO does not delete the droplet unless the owner confirms via a link sent to his email.

I'll be happy if I see this feature on Digital Ocean.

          • Backups Daily instead of Weekly

Automatic weekly backups seem a bit far between, daily backups would be better. Especially for droplets holding data.

            • Support HTTP/2 on load balancers

Digital Ocean's new load balancers only support HTTP 1.1. The text protocol and lack of multiplexing in HTTP 1.1 means it's MUCH slower than HTTP/2.

One of the pages on our site loads in 600ms on nginx running HTTP/2, and 1.8s on HTTP 1.1. We'd love to be able to use DO Load Balancrs but the slowdown isn't worth it.

              • Attach Block Storage Volumes to Multiple Droplets

Great thing you've done with block storage, most impressive and very useful. In the future if one block storage volume could be seen and used by multiple Droplets, it would make life sooooo much better and easier, to share install files, user files, possible backup images and much more between droplets. Great work DigitalOceanTeam!

                • Support Bring Your Own IP Space

Currently Vultr supports the Bring your own IP Space feature: they provide either IP Address Advertisement or full (or default route) BGP. They provide the normal IPv4 and IPv6 addresses (used for peering) and also set up a BGP session from their AS to your server. This, combined with the private networking can really help. I know it's not a popular feature: it's unlikely that 99.9% of the customers will use it, but it's definitely a good-to-have. Even if it requires manual set up and is not automated.

                    • Datacenter in Taiwan/Korea/Hongkong/Japan

Singapore datacenter is quite good and very popular.
But could you please enable datacenters in Taiwan/Korea/Hongkong/Japan?
This will enlarge your market share quite a lot, as there exists great needs in Asia.

                      • Add the ability to rename Storage Volumes

We can rename droplets, but storage volumes are stuck at whatever they happened to be named on creation.

Having the ability to change the name would be nice for organization. I have a droplet named volume-sfo2-## and keep forgetting what I am using it for.

                        • PROXY Protocol in Load Balancer

When using a TCP load balancer it would be still useful to know the the IP address the original address came from.

HAProxy has a PROXY protocol which is sent to the downstream server with IP information when a new client connects before sending proxying any data.

Hello I just want to use the $5 instance, but recently Linode offers it with 1GB ram, I almost alwasy find myself running out of RAM when I ssh into DigitalOcean.

Would you be willing to upgrade my machine with same spec as Linode for $5 per month?

                              • allow Floating IPs to point to load balancers

This would allow me to scale an app seamlessly in real time, instead of needing to carefully time it against DNS cache latency.

After playing around with the new Load Balancers for a bit, It seems like an obvious extension. By the way, I'm really pleased with the feature. It seems very polished.

I like the graphs feature which shows the bandwidth, CPU and Disk I/O for a period. I thought it would be nice if I could pass this information on to my client along with their monthly invoice.

A simple "Download Graph image" button next to the graphs is all I'm asking for (which downloads a jpg or png to my hard drive).

                                  • Allow a user to be part of more than 10 teams.

We prefer our clients to pay for the hosting directly so currently do the following: set up a new account per client > create a team > assign client as the biller > add ourselves as members of the team. However we have more than 10 clients and at the moment we can only be assigned to 10 teams. The work around is to use a second email address and assign another 10 to that but it gets a little messy i.e. remembering which email is assigned to which client team. Thank you!

                                    • Affiliate Program - Needs Your Attention.

I was advised to re-post this here. So it's a copy/paste. if you agree vote in an attempt to change the system.

                                      Year later $450 on pending.
I believe that your affiliate mechanism is not motivational enough. Although we could call it pure shit - no excuses, keep reading.

You should definitely design a new strategy that will actually encourage people to recommend your services.
                                      For an example:
I'm extremely happy with everything you do. The servers are fast and reliable. The pricing is amazing. The control panel is amazing. Literally everything is great, but not just great I can…

                                      • Fixes to the new Domain/DNS interface

                                        1. The new Domain/DNS interface seems to have lost some valuable features. From what I recall, the old interface for a domain's DNS records had:

                                        - Color codes for DNS record types (very helpful for quick looks).
                                        - Grouped DNS records order with A, CNAME etc. listed first.
                                        - Raw DNS record at the bottom. (There is a "Download zone" option in the domains list view, but I'd prefer to also have the raw record at the bottom, both for quick glances and copy/paste.)

These valuable features have disappeared since the update. DNS records for a domain are now listed…

                                        • API endpoint for droplet metrics infos

An API endpoint to access the collected metrics infos would be useful.
It should return everything you can see in the webinterface:
                                          - CPU
                                          - RAM
                                          - Disk usage & activities
                                          - Bandwith
                                          - (Top) Processes grouped by RAM and CPU usage
