Your feedback drives our design process. Your votes count! Let us know what you want to see from the DigitalOcean cloud.

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. transfer droplet ownership

i would like to be able to transfer a droplet as is (completely with IP address and RUNNING) from an account to another. this has nothing to do with droplet properties and it should be a simple change in database (for droplet_id change owner_id from user_X to user_Y or something like this).

from the interface point of view, it can be handled in a similar way with snapshot transfer, with one user offering and another user accepting the transfer

this is useful for billing purposes.

Singapore location is great and works well. But for HA applications it would be nice to have another Asia datacenter...

        • Update your prices

          Hello,

DigitalOcean is good, really good, but there is a little problem. Other VPS Services have much more Storage or even more CPU's for the same price e.g.:

          DO: 8GB RAM 4Core 80GB SSD 5TB Trans. 80$
          Linode: 8GB RAM 6Core 192GB SSD 8TB Trans. 80$
          Vultr: 8GB RAM 4Cote 150GB SSD 5TB Trans. 80$

Create a 1-click application that has a standard Laravel framework installed on a LAMP stack with all of its dependancies configured.
This would make D.O a go-to place for Laravel developers to get their projects deployed in a production environment in minutes.

                    • Re-approach the way Teams are implemented.

                      In reply to https://www.digitalocean.com/company/blog/team-accounts-share-resources-not-passwords/

The current implementation of "Teams" seems to be entirely counter intuitive and makes using them ineffective. I'd wager that the majority of accounts created on Digital Ocean were/are created by developers -- their own personal account, plus accounts for their clients.

Personally, I have set up a multitude of client accounts on DO, each with their own account. I currently use a third-party application to keep track of the login credentials for each client and sign into their account to manage their resources.

It would seem that a proper implementation of "Teams" would allow me to…

                        Hey Ben,

Thanks for the thoughtful and awesome feedback.

You are right in your assessment that Team Accounts do not, yet, meet the needs of the consulting developer. For our first release of Teams we wanted to focus on software development teams within companies ranging from startups to larger organizations. Team Accounts will certainly be evolving in the future and we will be constantly evaluating how our users are using our platform and what their biggest pain points are.

I look forward to more amazing feedback!

Continuing from http://digitalocean.uservoice.com/forums/136585-digitalocean/suggestions/3981054-allow-team-accounts, that is great for multiple developers.

However, I would like to set a billing contact from our finance department who is not a developer and I don't want to give access to anything but billing.

As well as that, I am sure there are other use cases were a team lead might want to do one of the following:
                                  - restrict access to certain servers to certain users
                                  - or have an infrastructure employee restrict dev servers to developers, staging servers to devs and testers, and then prod/live to minority of devs, for example

                                    • Return the droplet's SSH public key as part of API droplet creation / query

Since I want to provision servers I want to be able to trust that I'm not getting MITM'ed. While I know I can trust the DigitalOcean response (because of HTTPS / certs) I don't know that I can trust the (generated) public key of my new droplet. By including the public key into the droplet response this can be avoided. Before connecting to a droplet for the first time I could query the API for the droplet's public key, then programatically add it to my HOSTS file, closing the trust loop.
