  Well no one will be looking at a blog post for backup pricing information. This should be stated somewhere on the website. Preferably on the Pricing Page. The sames goes to other add on if you have them planned, like Load Balancer and CPanel... etc. If you make a pricing adjustment or new option please have it on the web page.

  Details about how backups work would be great too. When are they run, and how frequently? Does it effect the server? Does the server go offline while a backup is made?

  Technically you could but you would be managing that yourself by setting up some rsyncs to the other servers to pull content from and separately do any DB dumps.

  But the storage inside of the VM is separate from backend storage for snapshots and backups.

  I was wondering too...
  Would be great if people could use 50% of their storage (or whatever) for the backup.
  My current VPS is 30GB and I'm using maybe 5GB for the server and it would be strange if I need to pay for more storage :)

  Thanks for bringing this to our attention, currently they are both free but we will be adding pricing in the future.

  The price will be in line with our fees for virtual servers and bandwidth which are some of the industries lowest and we will be looking to do the same for snapshots and backups.

  We should have this announced soon.

  Yes, please! Since no pricing is indicated I am guessing that they are free, but doubt is bad for business. If you plan to charge for these in the future, please tell us that now as well so we can plan our use of these features accordingly.
